Who is D?!
My name is Daniela and I’m here to make your personalized craft dreams become a reality! I was born and raised in Chicago after my family immigrated here from Poland. Growing up I traveled between Chicago and Poland to visit family, and it sparked my passion for travel (ask me about my honeymoon climbing Machu Pichu!) My goal is to visit every continent, even Antarctica! Immersing yourself in the unfamiliar promotes growth and understanding which is so important, now more than ever.
Fur mama to Chanel, Lilo and Stitch. Lilo is a red-zone aggressive soft-coat Wheaten Terrier and, while a handful, an absolute mama’s girl. She has taught us the real meaning of Ohana and that NO ONE gets left behind.
How did Divine Designs by D start?
After completing my bachelor’s degree in finance, I felt stuck. Job after job I was unfulfilled and unhappy. I pursued a job in the finance industry just in time to lose it due to the pandemic like so many others. Before being laid off my mental health was suffering while I worked at a job that drained me. I felt like I was draining the ocean with a teaspoon, exhausted, depressed, and unfulfilled. After being laid off I was unable to find a job that stimulated my creativity, so I decided to create it.
My husband has been unbelievably supportive on my journey in creating Divine Designs by D and bettering my mental health through it. I have always and will always be open and honest about mental health. It needs to be talked about and the taboo around it needs to be eradicated.
Crafting is more than my job. It is a coping mechanism for my anxiety and depression. Being able to create something with my hands gives me the utmost satisfaction. Seeing the expression on someone’s face when I’m able to bring their inspiration to life is what I thrive on.
